Oscar and Shoshana Trachtenberg Prize for Faculty Scholarship (Research)

2016-2017 Award Winner: Graciela Kaminsky, Professor of Economics and International Affairs

President Emeritus Stephen Joel Trachtenberg endowed a prize for faculty scholarship to honor the memory of his late parents, Oscar and Shoshana Trachtenberg, and to provide a tangible symbol of the George Washington University’s commitment to research and creative endeavors. The University honors the recipient at the annual Faculty Honors Ceremony in March.



Award Criteria

The award is presented annually to a tenured member of the faculty that has made significant original contributions to research and/or creative endeavors. The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding research accomplishments while they are being made rather than years afterward.

Selection Process

To endorse the nomination, the department or program chair of the nominee is asked to submit the following supporting materials:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Support letter from the nominator
  • Optional external support letters (two maximum)
  • Optional publications or other appropriate work samples (three maximum)

Deadlines

Nominations for 2016-2017 Faculty Awards will be open from October 5th through November 21. To endorse the nomination, the department or program chair of the nominee is asked to submit the following supporting materials to resnews@gwu.edu by Monday, January 23, 2017.
